Rhonda Milner has joined our therapeutic team as a counselor.
Rhonda was respected radiologist in the Atlanta medical
community prior to retiring to raise her family.
As a second career, counseling is a calling for Rhonda. With her
medical background, she recognizes the importance of the
holistic—mind, body, spirit—approach to the health and
well-being of an individual,” said Trillium Springs Counseling

Group Forming
Trillium Springs Counseling is
pleased to announce that Bipolar Disorder...Support is Here,
an open support group for men and women ages 18-35 is forming. The Group
will meet the first and third Thursdays of each month from 2:00
to 3:00 p.m. The Group is designed for those that
are looking for a safe, supportive environment to process the
challenges of Bipolar Disorder. Challenges such as the stress
that comes with a recent diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder, or the
stress of finding healthy ways to cope with Bipolar Disorder in

Guthrie has joined our therapeutic team as a counselor.
Carol's long career in special education led to her current
passion of counseling individuals to come alongside clients on
their journeys to healing from emotional and physical abuse,"

Trillium Springs Counseling founder and director Vilda S. Brannen, M.A., NCC, LPC.
Carol taught special education for 27 years. She worked with
children and parents to help students obtain their educational
and emotional goals. During her post graduate internship at Mill
Springs Academy in Alpharetta, she counseled children challenged
with Asperger's, learning disabilities, anger management,
relationship issues, substance abuse, mood disorders, and
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Carol has lead Al-Anon
groups and is experienced in helping clients overcome
co-dependency.

Merrill has joined the therapeutic team. “We are delighted that
Ben Merrill has joined our therapeutic team as a counselor. Ben
has a particular passion for helping adolescents as they
navigate a growing need for independence, establishing their
identities as individuals, and striving to meet the high
expectations that they face on a daily basis.
Ben’s experience with both
counseling center clients and having served as an assistant
wrestling and lacrosse high school coach will be of significant

Ben has experience working with a wide variety of people and
issues in his work in the counseling field. He has worked with
families, married couples, premarital couples, adult
individuals, adolescents, and children. He operates under a
collaborative approach where the client and the therapist work
together throughout the therapeutic process. Ben incorporates
Cognitive Behavioral therapy techniques with a focus on
mindfulness, acceptance, and a consideration of family history
and current relational context.

J.D.’s professional counseling experience has focused mainly on
helping men and women struggling with bipolar disorder,
obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, and anxiety in both
group settings and in one-on-one sessions. J.D. is passionate
about combining his love of the entertainment industry with the
practicality of counseling. Before becoming a counselor, J.D.
pursued an acting career for many years in both Dallas and New
York City. J.D. understands the stress associated with trying to
make a living while pursuing a dream. He enjoys working with
entertainers on the stresses involved within the entertainment
industry.

Free Counseling Announced Through Haitian
Counseling Outreach Project
Trillium Springs Counseling is pleased to
announce the establishment
of the Haitian Community Outreach Project. The project has been
created to offer free counseling to Haitian community families
who have family members or friends they have either lost or are
unable to reach in Haiti.
“We understand the trauma and stresses related to these most
trying times for family members located here and unable to
travel to Haiti to find their family members or friends. We felt
we could share our experience in counseling individuals and
leading groups with the Haitian Community here in the
metro-Atlanta area. We hope that offering our services without
charge will remove that barrier to those in need of counseling.
We are also willing to speak to church or community groups,”

Carter Joins
Trillium Springs Counseling Center
Chip Carter, N.A., LPC, has joined Trillium Springs Counseling
Center. “I have known Chip Carter for many years and we are
delighted to have him join us at Trillium Springs Counseling
Center,” said center founder and director, Vilda S. Brannen,
M.A., NCC, LPC. Carter is a Licensed Professional Counselor with
the State of Georgia. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Mass
Communications from Western Kentucky University and spent 7+
years in the marketing and advertising world. Tired of the long
hours and corporate stress, Carter pursued education and
training in Christian counseling and graduated from Richmont
Graduate University (then known as the Psychological Studies
Institute) in May, 2004 with a Masters in Professional
Counseling with a specialization in Spiritual Direction.
